4 Ways To Stop A Break Up From Happening

Do you have a sneaky feeling that your boyfriend may dump you? Don't just let it happen, take these steps to prevent a breakup.  Don't get discouraged, it may be tough to preserve a relationship, but it's worth it.

Talk a little, listen a lot – open communication is an important first step.  If you and your boyfriend are “having words”, state how you feel very clearly, but don't go overboard by saying something you'll regret.  Don't overwhelm your boyfriend, give him a chance to express himself and listen carefully.  Listening and learning is a good way to prevent a breakup.  Don't expect your boyfriend to agree with you on every matter.  The best part of the word “compromise” is “promise”, promise that you each will endeavor to work together.  Be considerate, be willing to forgive his mistakes, ask him to be willing to forgive yours, if any.

Whatever effort your boyfriend may take to enrich the relationship, give him encouragement and support.  It's true about anyone, but men do appreciate knowing that they've got someone watching out for them.  Getting involved in what your man likes to do, even if it's a bit far out for you, can go a long way to prevent a breakup.  You don't have to be gung-ho, you don't have to get greasy, but if your boyfriend likes sports or working on cars, making an effort to gain interest will go a long way to prevent a breakup.  You may not like sports, but figure out a way to get involved that pleases him. If he's feeling a little blue, touch him in an affectionate way and encourage him to talk about it.  Push your boyfriend to realize his dreams, help him in his efforts as much as you can.  Be with your boyfriend in mind and spirit, through good times and bad.

As a third phase, look at yourself, build yourself up, improve in ways that you want to. That will make you more desirable to him.  Maybe you've become too wrapped up in your job and become rather undesirable to be around.  Too many little things can add up and make your boyfriend not enjoy being around you.  Everybody needs some self-improvement, figure out what's best for you.  Don't go for plastic surgery or liposuction, just make some changes that will make both you and your boyfriend delighted.  Spruce up your wardrobe, quit a bad habit or something he finds annoying.  Do something that brings you joy.  Buy a lot of cut flowers and make an arrangement. Paint a wall a groovy color. Go shopping.  Cheerful, happy people are easy to love, happiness is a great way to keep from having a breakup.

Quality time, time that is meaningful to both of you, is a necessary final consideration.  This time should be just for the two of you, doing things that you both get a lot of benefit from.  Times like this can strengthen a relationship, bring two people closer together.  It's fun to have a “date night” every week. And a long weekend away together is always a special thing.  Take into consideration sharing a project or a goal. Don't forget that letting off steam with each other at the end of the day is a significant way to bring a couple closer together.  A relationship will grow stronger as you spend more quality time together.

Put into practice the tips above and you will be going in the right direction to avoid a breakup.  Human beings are not perfect, so you must take the time and a consistent effort to build a human relationship.  Don't fear breaking up if you do your part and persevere.
